Mrs. Glendinning, who is certified to teach all subjects in grades 1-8, has a long career in the field of education. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University and her Master of Education degree from Texas Christian University. Prior to moving to Plano, she taught in the public schools in Arlington ISD and Fort Worth ISD. She retired from Plano ISD after serving the district for 26 years in many capacities, including teacher, team leader, campus literacy specialist, instructional coach, and an instructional specialist.
Mrs. Glendinning is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), as well as a Dyslexia Therapist (DT), having received her multisensory training at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She holds certifications in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Gifted and Talented instruction. Mrs. Glendinning is a professional member of ALTA (Academic Language Therapy Association) and ATPE (Association of Texas Professional Educators). She was 2005 Teacher of the Year for Brinker Elementary, and received the Texas PTA Lifetime Membership Award in 2006.
Mrs. Glendinning was drawn to The Guthrie School’s family atmosphere and pursuit of academic excellence. She believes in the quest for scholastic rigor and tenacity to foster higher learning in the acquisition of knowledge for all students.
Mrs. Glendinning’s greatest passion is spending time with her family. She and her husband, David, have three daughters – her oldest, Gracie, a registered nurse; her middle, Molly, a student at the University of Mississippi; and her youngest, Mattie, a high school student. She also enjoys gardening, travel, and watching football.
