Shannon Dowd


Ms. Shannon Dowd graduated from Teas Tech with a B.S. in Chemistry and minors in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics. She earned an International Business Certificate in partnership with the University of Southeast Norway and is currently a graduate student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the School of Health Professions. Ms. Dowd taught in Plano for over 5 years and started working at The Guthrie School in 2018. She is excited to have the opportunity to inspire young minds in PreK this year! Ms. Dowd lives in Allen, Texas with her two dogs, Raider and Khali.    

Laura Falgout


This is Mrs. Falgout’s second year as a Guthrie PreK teacher. Originally from Houston, she and her family have lived in several different states. Mrs. Falgout has two daughters who are the light of her life, and a wonderful husband she has been married to for eleven years. She enjoys travelling with her family, reading, hiking, and spending time outside with her children. Mrs. Falgout loves being a part of The Guthrie School faculty. A graduate from the University of Houston Victoria with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Early Childhood Education, Mrs. Falgout also holds a Texas Certification for Early Childhood through
third grade and has taught children ranging in age PreK to second grade for ten years. Having served in leadership roles such as team leader and teacher mentor, Mrs. Falgout considers watching her students grow and learn by leaps and bounds the greatest reward of being an educator. Teaching is a life-long passion for Mrs. Falgout, and she loves being a part of The Guthrie School community.
