Jill Guthrie

Mrs. Guthrie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English literature and a minor in mathematics. For more than 20 years, she taught at private schools in both England and Plano, Texas. In England, she worked in partnership forming a new preschool, as well as working in a lower school to assist the head teacher. She has researched, developed, and written curriculum, and designed and implemented methods of teaching with proven success. In addition, for the past 17 years, she has taught small group classes and tutored students from beginning readers (three-year-olds) to adults preparing their master’s theses.

Mrs. Guthrie’s advanced academics program in Plano, Texas, Guthrie Enrichment (previously Guthrie Gifted Education), today has more than 300 students enrolled after school and on weekends. In addition, she is a founding team member of The Guthrie School established in June of 2014, providing accelerated academics in a traditional private school setting to students aged pre-K to sixth grade.

Mrs. Guthrie lives in Plano with her husband, Zack, and their three crazy cats and one fine dog. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, walking her dog, and reading. Jill and Zack have three adult children, Sam, Meredith, and Ben.
