Jeanie Adamson

Music

Jeanie Adamson has been teaching music at the Guthrie School since it’s opening in 2014.  Her passion for music started at a young age being raised in a musical family.  She studied classical piano for 11 years, sang in multiple church and school choirs and learned to play a variety of band and orchestral instruments.  She fell in love with performing in high school and has since been involved in community theater and summer camp productions as a cast member and music director.  She is currently active as a musician/vocalist/choir director at St. Jude Catholic Church, Ursuline Academy, Parkinson’s Voice Project, and teaches private piano and ukulele lessons.

Jeanie received her bachelor’s degree in Communications at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She has been married to her husband, David, for over 30 years, having spent most of the last two decades raising their five sons.  Living with all those boys has given her a sense of how to keep calm in the chaos!

Teaching the Guthrie School students about music and how to sing, act, and perform in their class musicals and in the All-school Productions is a great joy!  Her favorite part of teaching is giving each student the opportunity to express themselves musically.  It is amazing to discover the talents hidden within them and to give them a chance to shine both in the classroom and on the stage.
